We learned a lot about the Middle Ages on our field trip today!
This week besides our summer camp activities such as: sports, swimming, cooking, theater, dancing and singing, we had a surprise with our bikes, skates and skateboards. We toured a road with signs that indicated where to travel without causing traffic accidents.
We visited St Benet monastery where we learned how people lived in the Midddle Ages, the monks' lifestyle, the monastery's activities and the type of food they used to eat, we also prepared recipes of that time period like tenth bread ( without yeast) and “almodrote” (sauce of Roman origin that arrived by the Arabs to Spanish lands and from there its name). We use many species and we have fun kneading the dough too! And very important, at the end we helped with the clean up!
You can see all the recepies in the photo album…
